Lindsay A. Waddell*

Lindsay (she/her) is a partner at Moore Edgar Lyster LLP where her practice focuses on human rights, union-side labour, administrative, constitutional and professional regulatory law. She acts for public and private sector unions, professional regulators and individuals in a wide variety of matters.

Lindsay is an experienced litigator who has appeared as counsel at all levels of court and in front of all manner of administrative tribunals. She has extensive experience as counsel in judicial reviews and appeals involving complex human rights, administrative law and freedom of expression issues.  In addition to her litigation work, Lindsay also conducts independent investigations for select organizations and acts as independent legal counsel to administrative tribunals and decision-makers.

As a respected leader in her field, Lindsay is frequently asked to teach and present to audiences on a wide range of subjects, including human rights, labour law, advocacy and ethical issues. Among other things, Lindsay is Co-Chair of CLE BC’s annual Human Rights Conference and a contributing author and editorial board member for CLE BC’s Administrative Law Practice Manual. She is also a regular panelist for Lancaster House and teaches annually at the Canadian Labour Congress Winter School.

Over the course of her career, Lindsay has contributed thousands of hours of pro bono legal services to individuals and social justice organizations. She has also volunteered extensively in the non-profit sector, including as a Board Member of West Coast LEAF and Family Services of Greater Vancouver and in other capacities for the BC Civil Liberties Association. Lindsay is passionate about legal systems, access to justice and use of the law as a tool to create positive social change.

Outside of work, Lindsay can be found hiking and downhill skiing, usually in pursuit of her partner and three young children.
