Mary Thibodeau

Associate

Mary Thibodeau (she/her/hers) is an associate at Moore Edgar Lyster LLP where she practices human rights, labour, employment, administrative and professional regulatory law.

Mary has represented unions at grievance arbitration, the BC Human Rights Tribunal, the BC Labour Relations Board, and BC Supreme Court. Mary’s passion for workers’ rights stems from her early involvement in the trade union movement as a striking worker, a union organizer, and as a shop steward.

In addition to her work with union clients, Mary acts for individuals and professional regulators on a wide variety of legal matters.

Mary has a strong interest in public legal education and making the law more accessible for everyone. Mary has volunteered her time to review legal information for the People’s Law School and has provided training to unions and their members on workplace investigations, cannabis in the workplace, and social media issues. While in law school, Mary volunteered with Pivot Legal Society, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, and the Worker’s Action Centre in Toronto.

Outside of work, Mary enjoys hiking, riding her bike around the city, and surfing on Vancouver Island.
